The guys at TheseArePowerfulHours.com make mixes that just work. This party's mix is no exception: it's a 60 song, 60 minute tribute to the handclap - the most primitive and most powerful form of percussion.

Tonight Bijules hosts the Hump. Her style is flawless: she takes risks with her jewelry, but it always makes her look fly. So ladies, check out her jewelry and give it a try. And if you come to tonight's party and she gives you an envelope of hair, don't freak out...hair's the theme for her latest jewelry line.
Remember I went to that Nas Party which featured a phone I wasn't feeling? Well, it turns out that it's called the Motorola Rokr, and its featured at another party.
adidas Fanatic VII - Sat, 7/26 12PM - 9PM Chelsea Waterside Park West Side Highway & 23rd St
Yeah, I love my futebol (that's that Brazilian spelling...know that). Go Arsenal. Go Naija.
But what excites me most is the nitty-gritty street soccer that takes place in those small spaces, whether it be on concrete, sand, whatever.
For Adidas Fanatic, the pitch is grass astroturf, and my expectation for smooth maneuvers is pretty high. What's more, King Britt is spinning, and there's plenty of opps to throw back some beers.
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff happening in Brooklyn tonight (like that Ninjasonik show), so I'll probably be there tonight. Here's what else is going on there:
Cuprocking 7PM-10PM Alphabeta 70 Greenpoint Ave, BrooKlyn (b/w Franklin St & Greenpoint Ave) RSVP here
Deerhoof 7:30PM Prospect Park Bandshell (enter at 9th St and Prospect Park West, Park Slope, BrooKlyn)
Summer of Love 9PM-?? Hope Lounge 10 Hope St, BrooKlyn
I made the last three songs of N*E*R*D's set and know I should have come earlier: the crowd's energy communicated that Skateboard P, Chad, and Shay hit their mark. But even more than their stage presence, N*E*R*D's lighting was nuts and definitely helped the crowd rock out.
Wanna weigh in? Check the performance for yourselves!
Yeah, this was okay. A party at the Red Bull Space (a lot of those lately) with Nas' music videos playing in the background. DJ Ruckus was spinning, playing some good throwbacks (and apparently DJ Cassidy picked up where he left off).
Oh yeah, people were upping this Motorola phone that could play 2 gigs worth of music. It's supposed to compete with the iPhone, but truth be told, my next phone needs a keyboard (preferably touchscreen) and this didn't have it. And I really like the idea of a cellphone that's basically a computer (mail, internet, music, etc.); this phone was more for people who just want to have their music on their cellphone. If my next phone isn't the iPhone, then I'll probably be going with one of those phones that'll have the Google Android system. Speaking of, here's a phone with that Android...
Last week's party was great! DJ Funk (Dancemania) James Curd (The Greenskeeper) & Prince Language 10PM-?? Santos' Party House 100 Lafayette RSVP - roxy@oxycottontail.com
